After Paper Plans… and Interesting News

Ok, it's Wednesday, and it's time for some after-paper planning.

  • play tennis
  • swim
  • stone
  • redefine certain things
  • throw certain things into incinerator
  • draw new borders
  • create new rules

People have been saying why when I blog, I tend not to put in names when I talk about bad things. In case you did not realise, this blog is in the public domain. It is easily reached by search engines. Which means that, bad things can be digged out easily. I cannot be going around in this blog and say for example, "joan tan liying is blah blah blah w x y z". Wahaha…

I am not liable to you for any job refusals due to what I say on my blog. Lol. But I am liable for what I say here. Lol…

The chinese newspaper reported something interesting. A graduate has been refused the position of bus captain by a certain transport company just because he is a graduate. Reason cited was that a graduate will not stay long in that job. The best thing is, recently, the transport company has gone overseas to recruit bus captains…

So, what's the real reason?

Another piece of interesting news was regarding fines for underpaying for bus rides. If you are caught, you are fined $20, which is payable at all top-up machines or on-the-spot. If you failed to pay within 14 days, your fine goes up to $1000.

Best.

Same thing for all companies: collect money very fast, pay out money very close. It goes well with finance theories: collect receivables as fast as possible, and delay payables as long as possible. Lol…

maybe they should start implementing automated gates on the buses now. Wahhaa… and with a height limit barrier, so that those below 0.9m can walk in, while those above 0.9m have to tap their cards first. Then maybe those who used the wrong type of card can be crushed by the gate automatically or something like that…

Hmm… crazy…

The hottest discussion nowadays is regarding having seat belts on mini buses. Basically, to summarise, these are what parents want:

  • implementing seat belts
  • cheap
  • good

How? There's some parents saying that school buses should be just for school and nothing else. Lol maybe that will pull up the price to double… Wahha…

And once they start talking about seat belts, the reports on bus accidents all over Singapore start pouring in. Suddenly, everyone is interested in bus crashes…
