Been thinking for a long long time, regarding a suitable layout for this place… Hmmm…
Till now, totally no idea.
Let's see what I had in the past… Hmm…
My earliest domain name was apptika.net, registered with namezero last time. It was a free domain redirect actually, so yeah, played with it lor. The next one was also from namezero: saintsitc.org. Basically it stands for saints IT club. Looks like no one after us actually cared about having a club website, and so, too bad. Now I wonder if that club still exists at SA… wahahah!!
Last time, I did think of IT club merging with some I-forgot-what-the-name club. Wahsey that will be fun. Is it science club or what… forgot already la. Nah…
The very very first domain name officially registered under my name was EnchantedLove.Net. Let me see… EnchantedLove.Net was registered while I was in the army. I still remembered that Melvin Chua saying "hanaaa ENCHANTEDLOVE la…." Wahaha!! About how the hell I thought of that name in the first place… who knows? Anyone know? Tell me lor… I have forgotten. And I don't think it's in this blog archive anyway.
There was once (years ago) someone sent an email asking if I was interested to sell that domain. I said no. Who knows if the person is really buying or trying to cheat me out of the domain name? Anyway, if I am going to sell that domain name, I will sell it through the registrar.
There was once I did registered a domain name called dexcodesigns.com. Supposedly planning for a web design thingy. Never really worked out, because at that time, Joseph and I were all in camp. There's really nothing we can do anyway. Lol. So I let the domain expire 1 year later.
I did a search. Looks like I did blog about Dexco. Lol. Here: http://belief.enchantedlove.net/index.php?blog_id=63.
Next, I registered Commonwealthian.Net. I was trying to come up with a siao system for classes, forums, etc. It never really worked out though, because Keith emailed me saying that they were setting up an alumni website, and Commonwealthian.Net seemed like a nice name for that. And so, I passed to them lor. Goodwill mah…
Now I go there, I cannot even see anything. What I see is error in mysql script. Duhz.
And then, for no reason, I was thinking of a new domain name. With some input from Ben, I registered HazelSky.Net in school. Yes. In school. Wahaha… I wondered why I signed up that name though… Another search revealed that I did blog about this: http://belief.enchantedlove.net/index.php?blog_id=503.
Did a webbie for Raduga some time back. That was the first time I registered a SG domain name (under the company, of course). Fun la. Maybe I should get back to them and see if they need a webbie revamp, and maybe a server hop too. It's been 2 years. Maybe Emmanuel can provide better services that still can be cheaper than pozhub. Wahaha!!
Recently, I bought over HazelCafe.com from Emmanuel: http://belief.enchantedlove.net/?blog_id=1313.
That's all I can remember about domain names.
Long long ago, I had a sunflower themed layout!! Wahsey those were the days when I still have different pages for different things.
Ok let's go back down history even more…
First webpage was actually done in CSS, for a science project presentation. Last time, webpages are still very duhz. I still remembered that I had a software called Blackbird… Duhz… of all names.. blackbird. Don't ask me why. It allows be to put a bit of effects here and there. That was when I started playing with source codes.
When I got my internet, I signed up for Singnet's personal webspace. It's free anyway, but it's only 2mb. DId my first webbie. It had a series of strange names: M@gical World Of Apptika, Daniel's World, lalaalala etc etc… Wahaha… M@gical world… lol! Must be too influenced by Xinli's Akazukin Cha Cha webbie. Wahaha!!
That was 8 years ago I guess.
I had 2 webbies at Geocities. One was apptika, the other was css4s399. If you go to the css4s399 web, it should provide a link to redirect you to the new one. Heh. The apptika one had been removed long ago. Strange thing was that, they did threatened to remove css4s399, but they didn't. Wahaha… They "forgot" I guess. Lol…
I had another webbie at brinkster. That was when I started experimenting with ms sql and ASP. I think the name was something like… cssnetwork or something like that. Hmm…
Actually, by right, I had a JC class webbie. I forgot where it was. Opps. See.. JC life. Short. Even my memory about it is short. JC days were actually my worst. Not that I anti-SA. I love that school and surroundings. I was just not too happy with Eugene Chan for splitting us (1S19) up. Wahaha.. but then he got no choice la… cannot blame him.. Lol…
The first time I actually played with DHTML was in JC. At that time, the technology was still very very young, and allowance had to be made for different web browsers. Now? Actually things have not changed much la. Lol.. Except that, with newer versions of browsers and script engines, things are much simpler.
And now, we have AJAX. I will go into that soon. Actually some are already AJAX-enabled (like here, previousy), but I have removed it due to problem with search engines, back buttons and things like that.
Is this history long enough? Are you asleep yet? No? You managed to read until this line??? Wahh!!! You are pro!!! Wahaha -.-
