So Long…

1 hour 13 minutes… hmm… long enough or not?

Now I really wonder if I should have gotten my replacement sim card. Maybe, the sim card going on a tour is to avoid such things, but, some things are just so unavoidable.

2 hours 10 minutes in total. And today's 9th. Oh-oh… Let the talk time overshot ba…

1 hour 13 minutes. Heard those stories. It just makes me think. Why?

Not “why” as in why they are like that, but “why” as in why I don't have such things? -lol-

1 hour 13 minutes. With a not-so related person. Yeah. Talking about it will feel good.

But then, do I feel good? Yeah. I can listen, sure thing. But…

Experiences. They come and go. Learn, and move on. 'Cos you never know…

I will also like to talk about this problem, but then, I think, I shall only tell princess. And maybe the-person-who-is-hated. Can't tell the whole world.

See? This is even more disturbing than the sim card problem. Or rather, now is an even serious sim card problem: talk time… and some other things that have to be looked at at a greater depth.

And really, I have no idea. Because I have not been there. I hope I can be there (or maybe not).

Ich warte… warte für meine Reihe.

Bye Sim Card…

My sim card has decided to join the group of “betrayal items”. It has decided to travel to Taiwan. Yeah. To have fun. Without me.

And I can still recall, waiting, and waiting, and waiting…

When the swap was done, I just knew that, somehow, something will happen to it. Lend it anyway. Be optimistic. And so, from around 2 to 5, I was totally uncontactable. I could not contact Zhonghui to find out where he was. I could not send any SMS to ask people some things. I could not.

I was happily reading my SS reading at the fifth floor of the central library. And she's supposedly downstairs, with my phone. My sim card was in hers, which was low batt, and also with her. Oh well… I took a break and looked at the time: 3.15pm. That's it.

There goes my phone, I thought. And so, I went down to check. Ryan was there, and so, we checked the room. Not in. He offered to help me check the bus stop in case she's there. That time was 3.30pm. If she's there, I have nothing to say.

And Yingfong came and swing the phone in front of me. And I thought, oh well, going without saying goodbye, but at least the phone's back. I on it. “Insert sim card”. Well done.

Back came Ryan. And we spent some time there, brain-storming ideas on how to finish her off. After that, Yingfong had a talk. Ryan went off to do some stuff.

And me? Walked to SDE, crossed the road, took 188, and changed 176. Destination: Hello! Shop @ West Mall. Missed the stop at Bukit Batok, and ended up having to walk backwards. The time was 4.30pm. And someone else was at T2, shopping, blogging. Luckily the queue at the shop was not long. I only had to wait for 2 minutes. I told the guy about my problem, and he suggested that I terminate the old sim card, and get a new one, which I did.

I officially retire you, sim card. Have fun.

This is the second time that I am asking for sim card replacement. The last time was the stupid theft incident in camp.

And so, all sim card information is completely lost. But luckily, I have backups. The latest copy is in my phone memory. So, upon receiving the new sim card, I copied all the contacts from the phone into it. Anyway, besides my parents' numbers and home numbers, the only number that I can 100% recall, is yours…

After that, I decided to continue to go to IMM in search for a wire stripper. I was waiting at the bus stop, and still managed to miss 2 buses.

Wasted trip. I think I shall go down to Sim Lim Tower to take a look, since I think I will be around that area tomorrow.

Went into Giant and came out empty-handed. Went into Watson's and ended up spending $20++. Went into Polar and spent $8. Too bad there's no Coffee Bean.

Really, I don't know to be angry, sad, happy, disappointed, or what…

If my sim card has flown, well, happy for it. If my sim card has not, oh well… It's unfair to it.

But I think, overall, it's more on the disappointment side… Disappointment after disappointment. So fun.

People going off without saying goodbye. People asking about other people, which I have difficulty answering. People buying things without asking.

Sim card is a small problem which has been solved easily. The other problems… haiz… See how ba.

3rd problem shall be solved by my going down to Sim Lim Tower tomorrow. 1st one, oh well, it's over, so let's forget it. 2nd 1 is a real headache. I can't tell lies everytime right. Lies just cannot stand forever…

Shall use ???…

But anyway, Ms Lin Xinli, I shall make you wear the sim card around your neck when you come back. It will be such a nice fashion accessory…

While waiting for my replacement sim card, I asked the guy about Singnet Broadband upgrading criteria. He said that my plan still have around 8 months to go, and so, if I am to upgrade, I will have to pay for something called “liquidation charges”, which amounts up to $210. What the…

While on 188 to JE, a guy accidentally let his plastic bag of things to fall on my foot, but I still managed to smile at him somehow.

While having Signals tutorials, Jiahui's finger nails turned purple due to the cold.

While talking to Yingfong and Ryan, Zhangkai appeared, looking so… Zhangkai.

While asking Chun Jian if he wants to buy the wire stripper, he told me that he has bought. Today.

While writing this, Yingfong SMSed, saying that my sim card's currently with her.

End while.

In School from 8 to almost 8…

Hmm.. this morning, I found out that, actually I can reach school at 8 even if I get out of home at 7.15am. Interesting? Not really, because if I reach school at 8, I will take half an hour to realise where am I, and any one-hour lecture will be ending in about another 15 minutes’ time… And so, I shall still be early. To enjoy the quietness, maybe? Or more accurately, to enjoy my breakfast…

Yeah, reached school at 8am. Stoned around till 11 for my tutorial, and then for the Signals lecture, and then SS lecture. Went back to Audi to stone even more after that. Finished watching the D1 lab video, and tried to do some other things, but somehow did not manage to because some people came in and we started our lunch-time topic… oh well. It’s interesting to talk about lunch-time topics. Common topic. Everyone wants to know more! See? All like to watch TV serials…

Stay tuned? Lol… Haizz…

And so, took some pics with my phone this morning!

See this electronic gadget: Olympus m:robe F-20 MP3 player! Functions?

  • Plays MP3, WMA, OGG.
  • Integrated FM radio.
  • 16-bit (65k) colour screen (96 x 96 pixels)
  • Record: Line in, mic, FM.
  • JPEG picture viewer.
  • Thumb drive (with the wire).
  • USB charging.
  • 7 sound settings (5 standard, 2 user-defined). WOW SRS enabled.

And so, here’s one:

mrobe_1

But wait! There’s another! OMG!! They are identical!

mrobe_2

Wahaha… Ich bin ein Kopie Katze!

Evaluation:
Small and nice. Sometimes, I think the buttons are placed in strange place, which somehow makes them hard to use with one hand. It’s indeed very light. Sound quality is good with the 3D sound on and good earphones. The menu is quite straight forward once one gets used to it (I have not). Recording is a great function. The mic is able to pick up sounds quite clearly. Recording from FM gives a good result too. It’s easy to add/remove files as it is detected as a removable disk drive under Win XP.

Rating:
8.5/10. Minus points for strange button layout and needing a wire to connect it to a PC. Would be better if the USB head is included with the player itself. While connected via USB to transfer files, it will start to charge using the USB’s power, and thus, connecting and disconnecting will result in multiple charging. Not very good for rechargable batteries, and a polymer built-in one some more. I am satisfied with the sound quality and the size.

Ok, back to tutorials!!!!! Argh!!!

But I want to sleep too…

Update Of What I Have Done…

For the past 3 days, I have been going to Suntec. To and fro. So fun right? It's so fun, yeah, since I discovered that 97 actually stops right at the bus stop at the convention centre! And so, a trip there, and back, all by using my concession. And more important, I can have a seat. Or rather, lots of them! I can even read the EE2012 textbook during the journey!

Yeah, when I am alone, I will prefer to take a bus. Saves the trouble of looking around. Not that I anti-MRT or what, but 90% of the time, if I take the MRT from JE to some other place, I will end up standing all the way… And to say the truth (for once, or once in a blue moon), whenever I sit down, I will have to wonder what to do if there's some old person standing right in front of me… And usually, I will end up standing all the way…

Buses are slightly different. Most of the time, I will take the inner seat. If the bus is packed, I will still be in the inner seat. Not much difference…

Anyway, currently evaluating an electronic gadget. Shall release a report soon. Give me 1 or 2 days.

For the time being, it's back to my lab report. Duhz… At least this lab, I understood quite a bit, after discussions with my so-friendly-lab-partner.

As usual, I forgot his name again! I have problems remember guys' names. Well, I still remembered that the salesgirl at the Samsung booth, her name's Valerie. Wahahaa… opps…

Why… why people get to travel so often, and I don't? I want to travel too! I want to go Taiwan! Eat up all the ????, the muachi (not mochi, no.. mochi 7-eleven has. Actuall muachi also have hor.. hmm..), and whatever things edible! Wahahah! Heaven drop down some money on this ???! Hahaha…

Like last time, going to Genting was so shiok. That was after 2 years of NS life, and we were all preparing to “retire”, and being addressed as “old birds” in camp. Superiors were like our friends (well, most of them always are), and we could talk crap with them. Things which were negotiable became more negotiable. And that Genting trip, although I see the part where we travelled down to KL as wastage, the rest were OK. I would like to return there again one fun day, this time armed with a more powerful camera to take the most beautiful sun rise photo from the clouds…

Can all of you hit 21 quickly? So that I can suggest Genting for some trip? Go up and create havoc…

For now, let me just stay in SG lor… maybe, occassionally take out my passport to be stamped at the Causeway or what…

But then, if heaven drop down some $$$$, things will be different… Oh well dream on…

Think of it, if I did not spend any of the money I get from NS, how much will I have now? That will be quite impossible. I use that same account for everything. And that includes spending… wahaha… On whatever I want. Whatever I need. And don't need.

Choices…

Should I, or should I not…

I should, because, I need one. Then I will not have to rely on my phone, and the phone battery will last even longer. I will not have to make do with frequent disconnections as the plug is loose. Very loose. A light touch will cause it to disconnect. Disconnection means disruption.

I should not, because, it's still quite expensive. The one that I want will use up 3/4 of the amount that I have recovered from the cheque (provided it goes through). This amount of money can be used on something else.

I don't know what I really need. Yet. Do I really need that?

I need. I don't need.

Aiya…. someone, anyone, buy one for me NOW! Wahahaa… dream on…

Yesterday was quite a wasted trip. The day before, I spoke to Singtel people, they told me can upgrade. Yesterday, I spoke to Singtel people, they told me can upgrade by terminating the current contract (and paying the money) and signing up again.

Oh well. So that's what they meant by upgrade? I think they meant “upgrade their pockets”.

I have a feeling that, if I go ask them again one more time, I will hear another story. They are just full of stories to tell…

And there goes a new router and possibly PSP.

Wait lor… Maybe next time they give a laptop or what… wahaha…

Just not very fair paying extra for a slower speed. Stupid contract. Why like that? Do I have to go down to Hello! Shop or what to clarify? Sux…

Bought some BBQ fish home. Yummy, although it turned cold. That's all.

And so, did something happened for me to say a straight “NO” to buying an MP3 player? Yes, and no. It depends, and it can be all of the above.

Nah… no one to argue with, regarding pros and cons…

Who knows. I don't. And most probably no one will, too.

Rain Is The Best…

Yes… Rain is the best…

It's about time.

Pay Day, Finally…

Ok, got the cheque from Marie. Shall drop it into the cheque box tomorrow. Oh well…

Went to Suntec after going to Marie's workplace. Ben, CJ, and I shared a cab to get there. The taxi driver was extra friendly and liked to talk lots of crap… hahaha…

So many people! Heavy traffic near Suntec. The halls were full of people!

COMEX was the first stop. Went around looking here and there, with nothing in particular in my mind.

Seen the Singnet Broadband promotion. PSP. Not really interested in that offer. I would have signed on the spot if it's the Canon DV. I wanna DV! Looks fun… PSP, maybe not now.

After a short walk around level 4, we went up to level 6 for the Food Fair. On stepping in reminded me of the one at Expo a few months back. Somehow, it looked the same. As usual, the bak guas are always facing each other, and lots of other yummy food which I did not really have the desire to try them out. At least not just now. Ate a braised meat bun (???). Edible. Then bought a bowl of Katong Laksa, which was good, and a shark's fun soup that's simply CMI. Ben bought a bowl of ??? and CJ bought some “shark fin balls” or whatever those were. Before that, they bought deep fried durian. Oh well the durian's cold, even after deep frying… Was it supposed to be cold, or was it not? Who knows.

Yeah. That's about all. After makan, the 2 of them went off, leaving me to wander around. Went back to COMEX to hunt down MP3 players. Grabbed many flyers on the way too. So many players, which are the good ones?? Strange, but I did not manage to find iRiver! Where is it?

1 thing is: Creative's not the cheapest. But you can count on Creative, as it's a big player. Olympus looks nice. Samsung's missing some things here and there, which can be found in their other models. The others look ok one way or the other. Too many people around, so I did not test any.

Most of the sound chipsets will be around the same, I think. It's the brand name and functions that make the difference in prices.

Should I get one too? Let me think about it. Should I, or should I not? Since pay day's here… Hmm…

Some conditions will just give me a straight “NO” to getting a MP3 player. I hope none of the conditions will come true, so that I can still keep my options open.

Somehow… strange feelings since I left that place…

And yes, I think I saw Ke Ren just now. No no, not that one from the HK drama serial, but the one I did work with during the hols. She's standing somewhere, talking to her friends. Nah… I just walked past her… aw… wahahhaa

?????????

Was deciding whether to turn left or right when I reach the 1st floor of the convention centre. I chose the former, and went all the way to the Esplanade to take 97 home. Nice trip… Would have been better if I did not miss the earlier double decker bus. Too badz…

Dream…

And smile…

Wahaa… Audi (Day 2)

Stupid weather in the morning spoilt my morning plans, so I am stoning in the audi once again… I think I shall shift my morning plan to tomorrow morning. Lots of people? Well…

Read through 2 days of newspaper, and saw that Singnet Broadband offer. Hmmmmm….. I wonder if I can upgrade? Later I shall see-see abit… it will be sooooo good if I can pay a lower price for a speed that's supposedly (or theorotically) 3 times faster than what I am having at home now. Stupid plan signed last time.. Hmph.

Ok. That's all for now… zzZ

Less And Less Crap SMS…

The amount of crap smses that I am receiving has been decreasing lots. Now, I don't get much in a month. It is a dying trend.

Last time, in JC/NS, we used to send each other crap smses. Whenever I got a crap sms, I will forward it to another friend, and hopefully, he/she will reply with one that I did not have, which I could then forward it back to the person who started of the sms sending frenzy. Yeah… and I got some interesting smses here and there, which I will send to friends whenever I feel I should.

It's a form of remembrance I think. To let the other person knows that you are still around, and you still have his/her number with you.

Nowadays, don't say crap smses. I don't even get normal sms replies. Oh well, this is not a fresh new complain. It's a very old one. It's just sad. Some did reply late, and did explain why they did not reply. No matter what the reason for not replying, I will accept it. Be it low batt, bad mood, anti-Lk…

But some simply ignore.

Am I really that bad? Maybe… I am…

But who cares if I am good or bad. No one does. People come and go…

Last time in JC, I used to crap quite a lot with friends using sms. Now, it's more for some business. Once in a while, I will still send out crap… don't waste the 360 free smses. Just use them.

When I crap on sms, I can send out 10 smses within 1/2 hour! Hahaha… because I usually reply after I read the message, my reply rate always depend on the other party… I can go even faster, if my phone's connected to my laptop. Then I can simply use the keyboard to type whatever I want to say, and send it. Easy.

But now… Oh well…

Went for SS tutorial. Actually got the ideas in my head. Wanted to speak, but no voice came out. Maybe it's the first tutorial. Or maybe I have not prepared the tutorial in the way the tutor wants it. Or perhaps I do not expect the tutor to be going through the question this way. But now, I know. I shall speak during the next tutorial. 20% is a lot of weight.

The tutorials were ok. EE2010 was a temporary sub. Ben Chen (not ben chen, as in ??…). Quite a funny guy, but there's some problems about him.

First, his voice is a stable system. It will tend to a stable value over time, which, after experimentation (1hour was too short to have a large sample size, so just let the sample size be small), is 0dB.

Secondly, he liked to refer back to his circuits course, which was dropped this year as circuits is combined with systems and control. Luckily there's no one who's in his previous classes before, or else he would have start to behave the way that Xinli had told me around 2 hours before the tutorial.

Overall? A bit siao… But he's taking us for only one tutorial. Let's see who's the next tutor coming in…

And next was Digital Design! Tutor suddenly said the magical word “quiz” and flashed 2 questions on the OHP. Win liao lor. Luckily it's just K-maps, testing on simple concepts. No kick. Wahahahaa! And that tutorial. I somehow manage to get some design correct! Wahaha so happy. No time wasted afterall.

Yeah so far, the only subject that I think I will pick up fast is digital design. It's fresh. It's interesting. It's full of ideas. And it's not too mathematical. Ahh…

Ok time to sleep…. sleep sleep…..!!!

Back To Audi… And Happy Teacher's Day!

Happy Teacher's Day!!!

Ok, back to audi to stone for the first time for this semester.

My last time here was for the NE survey, where we answered some questions on Singapore.

Not much change in the Audi, except that, the curry sauce and the chilli sauce are gone! Oh well… still as cold as ever…

What should I do today? What should I do tomorrow?

COMEX… hmm… it's hard to get people to go, especially people who are somehow tied up with some decisions by others. Swim… hmm.. high chance, but the rain always like to fall on my head. Collection of the cheque is a must. Oh well…

I switch off my mind. Let it auto-roam…
