Mitch Albom – For One More Day

Bought it from Popular – 20% discount. Started reading it at around 4pm on the bus home. Finished reading it around 10.30am the next day. In between, there were times spent watching TV, stoning, mapling, sleeping. Short book. Interested people can look for me.

Ok finally done with the uploading! 40 minutes… duhz… ok, in between, there was a bit of time spent editing my file uploader, which used to redirect me to a 404 page…. Duhz… Fixed that stupid error. Thinking of switching to an AJAX-enabled one soon. Yeah soon…

Ok time to prepare for stoning in school…

It's the first day of school! Yay!!!!

Took the 143 route to school as the first "lesson" started at 9. Saw Ben and Mr Law outside Eng Aud. We were supposed to be there for a briefing and a 3-hr lecture thingy. Next came Ian. Finally saw him with some longer hair after 3 years. Lol. Next was Jiahui!

Went in to stone a bit. Saw the other team mates. Familiar faces. Lol. We are one big family anyway. Heh.

Had to leave for econs lecture at 9.45am. The lecturer was a funny guy! Interesting…

After that, it's 12, and we 3 met at the temporary "canteen" near LT11 for lunch. Law went to gym I think. Yummy chicken chop. Jh's sandwich looked yummy too… mMmmm…

Next was jalan jalan around forum, and co-op. Checked prices. Then to biz. FNA time at 2pm.

Interesting lecture too. Lol.

And then, we met Edwin at EA. oooo he had quitted NUS, and had signed up for ACCA full-time. ooOoooo… if that's what he likes, no problem… hehehe…

Next, we went to Clementi book store. Cheaper price there, and so we bought the books there.

So-so, for a 1st day of school. Lol. It's good to see everyone again!

Was doing a little blog hopping, and I came across a blog that can really make my hair stand on end.

It's really rare for things to make me feel that. The blog won. However, looking at the type of writing, I will not write in such a way. At least not on a public domain.

Aquarius people tend to crap more I guess, talking about daily happenings and occasionally writing some serious stuffs. They will tend to write more of happy happenings (perhaps?).

If the next sentence will disappoint you, I apologise. This is a blog of an Aquarian.

I do things my own way, and my own style.

I used to keep a sort-of secret blog, on a similar HS blogging system. I use it to write in Chinese. I have since block off all access to that blog. The address is http://disbelief.enchantedlove.net/. For those who are really lucky (or unfortunate, depending on which perspective you are looking at) to have read it, good (or bad) for you.

But I have to say this: This is Year 2007. No more disbelief. Having said that, it's interesting to me, how I hope that the blog will be read one fine day. I even dropped hints along in my blog, by spelling "Disbelief" and "Belief" with capital D and B in some entries. No one ever notices I guess.

It's the same way how I (used to) put secret messages here and there along with gifts and presents, sometimes secret ones too.

Dropping hints just do not work on certain people. I just don't connect to them, or they do not allow me to connect. I will think it's the latter.

So be it.

I was thinking of updating the database, when I came across this thing:

Some fun thing. That's IP2Location.com. I costs money to get the data I wanted: timezone information. Oh well. I better stick to the free one for the time being.

The previous few updates, I was using the database from IP-to-Country. It was not a bad database at all. Most of the countries appeared correctly. Some of the problem is not with the database. It is with IP allocations and maybe the usage of anonymous proxies (there's nothing in this world which is truly 'anoymous', but well, this type of proxy don't send me header information regarding the originating IP address.. )

A few hours ago, I found another IP-to-Country database at http://software77.net/cgi-bin/ip-country/geo-ip.pl. This includes 2 more information: register and assigned date. Although I don't have much uses for that info, I still use it anyway. Lol. It makes not much difference, only 2 more fields to be added into my database.

Currently, all I am dealing with are IPv5. I wonder what will happen in the near future, when IPv6 becomes more common? Lol… I think I shall worry about that in the future! Wahahaha!!!

For now, IPv5-to-Country is good enough. Ok that's about it.

Ok, I decided to rank groups of friends according to the level of siao-ness.

Siao-ness – the amount of siao things that can be carried out. It takes into account the number of times events and outings are carried out. It also includes the level of cooperation to get things done.

Rank 1: Army Friends
Even though it is a small group, it is powerful. Changes of plans at the last minute are welcomed. Not much sabo, not much ps. High level of cooperation. Able to work together to get things done in shortest possible time, which includes customs clearance, sales and changing of V200 tires and track shoes.

Rank 2: Secondary School Friends
Quite big group, but not too powerful. Occasionally siao, when it comes to bball, pool, swim, and bowling. Some are more siao with some activity than others. Problem is, not all siao all activities together. One might like 1 activity, but hate another. Acceptable level of cooperation.

Rank 3: University Friends
Not too big a group, and power lasted only 12 months. To be more specific, it's only 3 months. Things don't get done too easily due to distances, physically and mentally (more of the former). Fair level of cooperation.

That's the 3 main groups. Primary school friends, I don't meet them often, so it's not good to rank them. JC? Lol… JC relations are not that strong to begin with. Too much guys from the same school, and too few girls I think. Oh well. We still keep in touch, and try to meet up every August… Lol…

Went to swim alone this morning. 1 guy said he not feeling well, and the time was 10am, so it's ok. Another said he did not have a good sleep. The time was 10.20am. Well done. Anyway I had a good swim. I did not feel like getting out of the pool at all!! So shiok!!! But it's a bit more crowded than usual due to public holiday.

After that, I took 188 to CCK. Oh well. Too free I guess. And we just confirmed a last minute k-box session. Sang at JE from 2 to 7pm. Shiok. Lalalala~~~

Great day for me. Full day. Now? Tired… Lol… More tomorrow!

Went to CSC at Bukit Batok for a swim! Yingzi's BF got the membership, and so, the other 3 of us (yingzi, ruifu, and me) got in as guests. Got to pay $2. Oh well…

Anyway, the pool's not that bad. It's just very family-orientated concept. Nice surroundings, with butterfiles here and there. I think Mrs Loh wil like that place very much. Wahaha!

Anyway, saw 1 very familiar face. I wonder who was that… So familiar… very familiar… Hmmmmm….

More about the swimming pool. There's one swimming area, where the water system makes it feel like a giant fish pond. A mini wave pool, a children's playground, a very gentle slide, a lazy river, a jacuzzi pool, and a slide that goes round and round……

The place's very clean, which is a good thing. The water in the lazy river is much more clearer than that at JE. Occasionally you may find one or 2 dead ants or flying insects in the water, since there are plants everywhere.

The best thing is the bathroom! Hot water!!! Yay!!! And there's a dryer for your hair!! OooOooo… And the 20 cents locker is much bigger than the ones at the public pool!

After exploring the pool, we went to explore the other pool. The rate was $7.80 on public holidays… damnnnnnn EX…..

Anyway, we played for less than 1 hour, and then the couple went to some Gombak place, some relative's house for lunch, while Ruifu and I went back to Westmall for ours. Bought nothing today! Great!

Anyway, I have finished the upgrading of the board… Looks familiar somehow, but it's different! Partially different. I allow greater flexibility for customisation. Anyone interested to use this board, drop me a tag. Let's see if anyone wants to be guinea pig.

I doubt it. Lol…

Last time, when I requested for people to try it out, they told me that they wanted to keep their records, which were all at tagboard. And now, it's even better: they lost everything. Wahahaha!!!

Am I evil or what… oh well… maybe I am. Lol…

Things That Have Happened to Me in 2006

Something that have been dragging for a bit too long has been solved. That is the best gift for 2006. A nice birthday gift too. I like it very much, and the outcome was what I have expected.

It's the same logic: What I want, I will not get.

But I am just glad it's been solved, even though sometimes I will still think why was I so stupid in the first place?

Interesting me. Wahahhaa!

After that, 2006 has been very peaceful! Lol! That's the way. Nothing to think about. No outcome, no what-ifs, no otherwises. Nothing to worry about. Just me.

In this new year, I shall be me! Lol. That's the plan! Lol…

New Year Test

Did another new year test, using another method. Disappointing results. Yeah the usual: people never fail to disappoint me. Used to it, so it's ok.

I am ok. It doesn't really matter.

What To Do

It looks like I still do not have much important things to do, except to rest. I need rest. And I need exercise too. I cannot be waiting around for people to organise some sport session like badminton for example. As usual, certain people are more reliable than others. It's 2007, and what I have completed in 2006, I do not wish to touch. That includes webpages, flash animations. I have formatted my laptop anyway. The files are supposed to be gone together with it.

There's not much value in asking. I am really sianz of repeating myself everytime. And so be it. Lol!

Reached home at 4am this morning! Hahaha… the usual reason: give me a car transport, and I can stay whatever time I want.

We played pool first before heading over to play bowling. Shiok ar… playing pool while watching Man Utd vs Reading. 3-2.. Oh well none of my business. I did no betting. Lol…

Bowling was ok la… rf reached a top speed of almost 20mph… -.-" don't know how he threw that type of speed. Muscle too big perhaps…

Anyway, yz just called to ask if there's anything on later. I said 'stone'. Wahaha… just played in the morning, play again tonight? Wahh…

After that bowling, we went around SG… not that big round, but till central SG. Went to Holland Village but there's nothing much. Went to Orchard area but no carpark. In the end we went to Chinatown to eat. Lol… wth didn't know that they charge $1 for the youtiao for the porridge… duhz… my $3 order became $4… -.-"

I forgot where's that mustafa timsum place… lol… don't have the address. I only know it's very near mustafa…

Was watching TV just now, and there's an ad on anti-terrorism on tv… oh well… there are a lot of cases out there (we see them in papers) that are all suicide bombings. They don't leave their bags behind, which is a problem. They are gone together with the bag. How?

How I know…

"Killing because someone got killed"? And there goes Saddam too, who got hanged yesterday. No new year for him.

HS Boards will be undergoing a face-lift. Some things to be done:

• make the board looks neater
• better running
• upgrading of database (for my own purposes)
• more (may become less) customisable.

Ok, all these, before the end of this year.
