Finished 1 project, and hopefully, it's ok. Not too ok to me, but I am just so lack of graphics…

At least something is done, right?

Something about buying books for modules. Make sure you check both sides (NUS Co-Op and Clementi Book Store) before deciding from which shop you want to buy the book from. The book at I am supposed to use for MNO costs $8 less at Clementi Book Store… You know? $8? Enough for up to 4 meals? Can watch a movie? Can pay 53 days of book loan fines?

Bought the C++ Programming book too. The lecturer's too fast. Sometimes, I wonder if he's teaching, or is he discussing? The problem now is, C and C++ are almost totally different, but he just talk and talk… Well… needs more practice already.

Went back today for that single C++ lecture and came out with more stars. I can really fly to school in half hour, provided the buses cooperate. I always seem to miss that 183. In the end, I took 97 and changed 188. Reached school at around 3.35pm. Fast…

Later's another 8am day! And up till 4, and it's all thanks to that MNO! I was wondering if I can actually take that earlier slot? Hmm… That will free up 2 afternoon hours…

What am I going to do from 10 to 2??!!

Woke up at 6.10am today! So early, but what to do? I don't have the privilege of a 'free driver'. My dad got out of home earlier than me! Hmph… He needs to go fetch those foreign workers to work everyday, so, too badz… wrong direction of travel! If I had a car… *dreams and drools*

Got out of home at 6.45am, but ended up boarding the bus at 7! Saw a packed 97 passing by, so in the end decided to take 183. It's sooo empty! And I reached at around 7.45am! Met Benjamin on my way up and we went to have breakfast at the cafe. Hot dog! Missed that… Ok, Physics lecture was not bad. I actually listened to him!

Went off to buy Maths notes. Quite a long queue, but quite fast. Bought 2 sets. Configured a laptop wireless (which still gives problems), and ended up talking and looking at photos till around 11. Went over to Arts canteen to meet up with the rest, They were just sitting around, talking, waiting for the time to be nearer to lunch time before ordering the food, so I did not miss anything interesting except for some fun gossips here and there trying outwit each other…

After lunch, the rest went for their Nation Building module. If only I had asked around and knew that so many were taking the same module, I would have bidded for it. Many heads will have a bigger head, and should be able to work better… Too bad… I went off to Sim Lim for a routine walk-around.

The main reason I was there was to check out the wireless keyboard and mouse set. Bought one in the end. Logitech Cordless Internet Pro. Currently using it now, and I wonder how long the batteries are going to last…

Took 197 from Bugis. While I was about to pass by NUH, Benjamin called to ask about some internet wireless problem. It's the start of the semester, and this's the 2nd 'case'? I alighted at Science Fac bus stop to go help him out, but as I was walking along the covered linkway towards SOC, he called again saying it's ok already! In the end I got him to go to the canteen instead… had a cup of tea, relax a bit, talk a few crap, and said goodbye at 3pm.

I still have much to work on. ELove.Net, Tancom, Belief, and now, CJ problem. At least, after looking at the drawings, and brochures, I know what Joan's dad wants, but the pictures, well, I see what I can do. ELove.Net: Still working on Blogs. Tiring thing to do. Belief: Currently contemplating the creation of a calendar with my timetable! I had the calendar code (hopefully I still have it), I just need to slot in the details. CJ problem. Trying to use ASP on a server that supports PHP only… what can I say? But it's good that the project's not finished yet.. or else, they might as well use Brinkster.

I think I got to sleep… zzz tired…

What can I say? 8am later. I wonder if I can wake up. I think I should go and sleep soon, but let me do a bit of a planning first. Wake up 6.15am. Get out of home by 7. Reach school by 8. Can be done.

Well, hopefully. I used to get up at 5.30am last time, during secondary and jc days. And Tekong days too. Secondary days, I used to take that 176, most of the time on taking the same bus as Zhenyao, to school to have breakfast. Used to reach school at around 6.30am, and often, in upper seconday classrooms, we had to wait for the auntie to unlock the shutters. Lower secondary, our classroom was located somewhere very accessible, so that's alright. JC days, I went to school early just to avoid the crowd. Can take a short nap sometimes too.

Later, I do not know. I had not taken a bus at that time for quite a long time. Try my luck. First lectures won't start that early…

Went back to NUS to play soccer! Me, playing soccer? Yeah! Strange… The weather's alright, with occasional drizzles to cool things down. After that, we went to Ghim Moh market for lunch, and then went home. And OK day. Didn't know that the Ren Ci Charity Show was to be held in UCC, otherwise I would have sneaked in for a preview… hahaha…

Played bball in the afternoon. It rained, it drizzled, but we did not care much. Zhixiang was poked in the eye by our BEAR! We did not see him for bball for a long time. Victor did not warn us that he's coming, or else we would have brought face masks, knee and elbow guards and protective goggles…

We were so turned off by the rain (actually it's me having to reach PS by 6.15pm) that we left for Zhenyao's place quite early, at around 4pm. We had agreed to go over to his Grandpa's wake at West Coast. It was still drizzling non-stop, even after we left the place at 5.30pm! No choice, but I had to rush down to PS in a cab, together with CJ, to meet Lionel for 'Meet The Fockers'.

Funny show, that one. The dog, the cat, the family members, even that baby! 'ass…. hole….' Haha… It's a bit short, but I guess they cannot say much about these topics maybe… Overall, it's quite a nice show.

Feeling sleepy and slightly hot now. Was trying to sleep on 197 just now, but ended up staying awake to watch the live telecast of Singapore vs Indonesia on TV Mobile. Managed to get my eyes closed for a while at half time though.

Dragged myself to McDonald's for my dinner. Bought that Prosperity Burger meal, and the burger reminded me of McPepper. The twister fries looked almost the same as curly fries. And… the price's $6.20! OMG…

And why am I hot? Might be due to the rain and air con… Well… I will survive, no matter what.

Went to Marina South for BBQ Steamboat Buffet. For the very first time, that my record has been broken. I think the amount that I ate can be held by one plate. The plate's not even full! So little… Don't ask me why, but something's not right somewhere…

After that dinner, we went walking around. The people were not really interested in playing bowling, so the plan was scraped. Don't think they would want to play pool too, and so that's out of the list. In the end we ended up in the arcade, with the guys playing and the girls watching most of the time… well… something's just not right…

Our activities don't click.

After that, we said bye to the girls and Edwin, and we went around, finding a place to go to. In the end, we ended up in Pacific Coffee at Citylink Mall. Well, their ice blended reminded me of McCafe at JP. Same quality, but more expensive. Not worth the price of $5. The walnut cheesecake somehow reminded me of my failed attempt to make some steamed cake some months ago, you know, the taste of uncooked flour? Maybe the taste's supposed to be like that… but… well…

After that, we all went home. I took the same MRT as Weimin and Emmanuel, and we were like talking all the way from City Hall to JE. We sure can crap… too crappy maybe. Yeah it's good to crap…

So what's the overall result? We managed to get the majority to go. Those who could not go (cq having training, councillors I don't know), we will (hopefully) have more chances. We have met our initial aim to eat.

I have to put it as successful.

Well, maybe it's a bit late for that, but I am currently upgrading ELove.Net! This time, I am going to make changes to everything, so that the colours and borders will all be controlled by the stylesheet. That means, I can change my colours anytime. That means, I will have a better time.

Currently very free. Too free maybe! I need something to do, that's why. The term's starting soon, and I am still trying to jump back to study mode. Most probably it will take me a few weeks to adjust back, so I am starting early… Haha… crap…

And I still have not type out my HopeList… Well done… saying very free, but not free to do this little thing…

Went back to NUS again! I collected that status letter, and went to the Co-op to get a bag which currently seems too big for my laptop. A pig wanted to check out laptop prices and configurations, and so we went to MPSH. After that, I decided to go home. No where else to go. No idea where to go actually. Home will be the best choice.

Anyway, it's great to travel on the bus with 50 MP3s stored in the phone! I am carrying 10 times more songs! It's great, although after a while, it will be quite tiring to hear the same old thing again. FM radio is still the best. That's why I must have a modile phone with FM radio.

That Sony Ericsson camera-look-alike phone's not bad. Nice and sharp display. Not really heavy, even though it has a larger volume. The flip function is cool, as one can choose to flip either side. The camera has a digital zoom function, and it's speed is great! Clear shot of a person shooting a basketball into the hoop! The ball's clear! Wow… And it has bluetooth, IR, memory stic, etc etc… and most important, FM radio! But I have no money to afford this $900+ phone…

Tried to play the keyboard just now, but found out that I was just not in the mood for that. Tunes sounded frustrated and irregular, and keys were often wrong. Bad…

Did I mention before that I don't have any professional training in piano and such?

It's Friday already! Yay!

Did what I have wanted to do today!

(1) Go to NUS with Lijian.
Wanted to buy the Maths notes, but the printing room says that it will only be available next week. Not a wasted trip though. Went on to Registrar's Office to get a status letter for my unit. After that, went to Arts canteen to have Nihon Ryorii! Missed Salmon Teriyaki set! Food!! Haha… After that, went down to the Co-op at the Forum to get the book for my SARTOR module. Have to know roughly what's it about first.

(2) To buy a container for my A4 size papers.
Went to JP in the late afternoon. Bought that 256MB MMC card for my phone! Managed to squeeze in a few albums into it. After that, I hopped over to Popular and bought a little storage container with 4 drawers! A4 size, just nice for storing those A4 blank white paper! I need to clear up some space. That's why I need that. After buying that, it's just so difficult to do any more shopping that I went home.

(3) To settle my news parser.
Finally, I got it done! The output looks alright to me. I will be able to restore the news column back at ELove.Net soon!

Operation Back-To-Square-One-
Objective:
To revert back to the old way of querying the database for blogs.
Reasons:
(1) Generation of too many files makes maintanance hard and time consuming. For example, I used around 10 minutes to get rid of the 470 files generated by my blog.

(2) Duplication of code. The overall template is the same throughout. With the generation of individual pages, I have used up quite a substantial amount of available server space. If my template file is 5kb, after page generation, each page will be around 10kb, given the fact that I crap alot for most entries. With database query, I only need a file, and the rest are just my way of retrieving things.

(3) Easy Grouping. With querying instead of generating, I don't need to regenerate the pages when I make changes to the template or entries. I just need to refresh my page. It's a better and faster way to do things.

Well, at least I get the parsing of keywords correct. That's my aim in the first place. Now, I think I can start on the long-lost Yahoo! News section…

An update for today. Went running just now! Quite shiok. The temperature's cooling. A great night for a run. I had wanted to go running a few days back, but due to unforseen MSN chats and natural happenings (ie, rain), I have been forced to stay put. Ahh!!!

Tomorrow's Wednesday…

After 2 days of rain, tonight’s sky looks alright to me. Or is it because I had drawn up the curtains earlier, and I can’t see the outside now?

While others are killing each other off with ridiculous biddings for modules, I got mine for 1 point. It’s the same module, but I just don’t understand why. Maybe their timetable clash, or they just want to go home early. Anyway, By right, my lesson on Friday ends at 10. Now, it ends at 4. Friday. I don’t mind that much. But the exams will be like a marathon: 3 papers in a row.

Some other things. Some things, I do not understand. When I try to understand, I find out that, I still do not understand. Even when I see the whole picture, I still don’t get it. I need clues. I need pointers (not in terms of programming, please, no!). I need some advice, and I sure need assurance.

The HopeList? It’s late. I think I leave that for morning…

And a while, I was telling someone about procrastination… I really should put that in my HopeList too, because I am in the ‘Procrastination Club’ too…

To save some time, in case you need the meaning of the word, here it is. Caring me… =P *goes off to puke*

I need to test, see how fast does the server generate the pages… The last entry took quite a bit of time. If it takes ages, I might just change the way things are done, by reverting back to the DB query method, even though it's not that great. Or, I might modify the page generation thing a bit. Or, I might think of something else…

Finally thought of my HopeList 2005! I haven't prepare it! Oh man…
