Yay! Swam at JE with Emmanuel and Lijian! It's a good sunny day! Lost count of the number of laps I've swam, but it's good!!! Shiok!

That Mr Law, as usual, was late for 1/2 an hour. I had taken my own sweet time to swim 5 laps before he arrived at the pool. Next came Lijian, who wanted to swim at the last minute. Yeah, as usual, the weather turned a bit bad the moment he arrived, but luckily it became better after a while.

Really did not feel like leaving the pool… so shiok.. cold water, but hot weather…

With the new semester starting, I think my swimming sessions will be reduced significantly. Maybe, I should try the school pool one fine day, or perhaps, just take 188 from school to Bukit Batok to swim before going home or 198 to JE, or go to swim on Friday, before going to school. Yeah… Flexi-timings. As long as I like it …

But, once term starts, I will be lazy… hahahhaa…

Had KFC for lunch, and then went back to NUS. Went to co-op to look-see. Bought that Signals book. If I did not hear wrongly at Clementi bookshop, which I went after leaving NUS, that book is cheaper there, by $1.20, but it's out of stock. Yeah. As for the other books, no stock at co-op, and not too sure about the books, so decided not to get from Clementi.

I wondered where has everyone gone tonight? Perhaps, it's Friday/Saturday, that's why. All went out to enjoy. And here I am, at home, doing nothing. No, I am not enjoying! I only enjoyed the swim!

It's just my life ba… it's hard to make it more interesting. Because, I am built this way, with these settings… It's just… me.

Maybe, I will add in another function, to be able to put a background picture for the board display? I have allowed custom board layouts, maybe I should allow custom background. Since there's transparent, so why not a URL for a background-image? Yeah…

Tutorial on how to make a nice nice star using Adobe Photoshop:

1. create a new file.
2. use the shape tool, select the ellipse tool, press on [ctrl], and drag to create a perfect circle. Apply gaussian blur on the circle.
3. create a new layer. Select the pencil tool. Click and hold on 1 point, and while pressing on [ctrl], draw a straight line. Do another straight line perpendicular to it, ie crosshair.
4. Use gaussian blur on the crosshair.
5. align the 2 layers, and while pressing shift, right click and select the other layer, so that they are linked.
6. From the menu, select “merge layers”.
7. Tada! Star!

My star was created on a dark blue background, and a white foreground colour to draw the lines. Change the colours as you desire…

Now, I have forgetten what I have said. Hmm… Monday… Ok, remembered abit…

Went for a swim in the morning. Swam only 6 or so laps, as I was not feeling too well. I did not want to continue and then faint or drown or whatever in the pool… And then I left for school at around 12. Called Jiahui when I had reached central library. Found out that's she's still at home! Oh well, a little mis-communication there. A group of us were supposed to meet for lunch at the arts canteen before going for the ECE Dean's Welcome Tea Session. So I went, wandering around, walking to YIH to bind some things, and then back to LT3, where I saw the oweek people. Then I sat behind a pillar besides Junrong, trying to cool down while his group was playing that whatever-you-call-that game, putting a descriptive word in front of your own name… My shirt's wet! Yeah that place was really cooling. There's a cool breeze, despite the hot weather.

Something about the freshies: their “mixture” was slightly healthier than ours, and they had more foreign students joining in! Our time? Some came, and never returned…

After that, I went back to EA to wait for the arrival of the Red One… wahahaha! 1st floor was too noisy, so I moved up to the 2nd floor. Nice view. Benjamin (Tan) arrived shortly after. I saw him walking past downstairs, and had just sent out an SMS when he appeared upstairs! Lol! Yeah, so together, we waited for the Red One…

The Red One came finally. Face not that red actually… just a little what… never mind. She arrived, and we went up to LT7. On our way there, we met Lin Lee, who's holding a book (hmm.. as usual? hahaha). Ed and Mr Law came into the LT some time later.

Ok, the talk. Helped me to decide which enhancement programs that I CANNOT GO. Why cannot go? Unless heaven drops me a $20k cheque… it's ex for overseas stuff… and they are planning to send more people overseas, which means that, they are expecting more rich people enrolling into the university by 2008? They sponsor? Can they afford to sponsor half the cohort? Loan? This one is the best: heavily in debt even before you have graduated and started work…

laptop — NUS interest-free loan ($2k)

So these 2's already around $30k. If adding in overseas attachment, SEP, NOC, whatever, it will mean an addition of at least $6k (meaning, barely surviving there. No fun, no shopping, no nothing). Total debt will be approx $35k, and that's excluding interest rates.

So, this “paid experience” is not for me for the time being, unless I just happen to hit a jackpot at Genting Highlands, or maybe strike the first prize in Toto, or perhaps 1st prize in 4D when I buy $50 big, $50 small on a number…

Nothing much happened today! Really. I slacked the whole day away, at home. Haiz.. so boring… I was supposed to be doing some area cleaning of my room, but in the end, I was playing Winning Eleven. Great.

Sometimes, I look at all those MSN nicks, some irritate me, some are funny, some are sad, and some are just crap, like mine.

But then, some nick just reminds me of unpleasant things. They just stand out… I cannot stand those mushy ones… They just irritate me. That's all.

Or perhaps, I am just jealous?

Oh well, I don't want to care about these this time. I got better things to do. Thinking too much, especially regarding certain topics, tends to give me headaches. Maybe there's something wrong with my head or what.

Had a not-so-great bball session. Only 4 people. And the sun's burning. No I am not that burnt, as I have already been burnt before. So, I am just hot. And cold. And thinking…

Well well, this vehicle’s commissioned?! And I was hoping otherwise… opps…

Since it’s in the papers, that means I can talk about it! Hahaha! 65217. I should have driven it before. I don’t think this one belongs to my unit at that time… my next-door unit I think…

For military siaos, the vehicle is a M113A2, with that thing mounted in the centre area. Driving these at high speeds, especially the ones with the radar domes, can be scary when turning. Due to its relatively high CG, it just feels like it’s drifting! That structure at the centre is mechanised (arbo why they call it Mechanised Igla), and controled by gunner (who else? Definitely not me, who will be at the front…). It can turn quite fast.

Ok, my favourite about this vehicle: The fan at the back! Sometimes, we will be “duanging” in the vehicle by opening the back door, go in, close the door, and on the fan. So shiok. This way, no one can find us also… Hahaha… idea eh? But usually we “duang” openly, as the ram door will be down, and we just sit there, thinking of valid excuses to be sitting there instead of doing what we were supposed to do (which were always valid reasons. As for invalid reasons, we have every reason to believe it’s valid… ). Sometimes we sit there and talk crap. Other then sitting there, the next best places will be the canteen and the rest room (No no, not toilet that rest room.) and ofcourse, that Tech Squad room… heh heh…

Of course, our bosses know what we have been doing. I think they just keep a blind eye to it, as we have been so good, “garang”, shit-job-also-do, and drivers who deserved to be given extra pay for doing a mechanic’s job sometimes, and doing it better than them!

Why? Because we were the drivers. Hahaha… I mean simple jobs la, not taking out that engine to do servicing or what. Just simple things.

Next, my hatre for this vehicle. Tracks. Especially track changing. Track changing was the incident that caused Zhiwei to get his big toe under 8 track shoes after a stupid accident whereby guys carrying the track together with him lost their grip somehow. ooOoo. And he was wearing safety boots at that time.

So, don’t assume safety boots will make you safe…

Yeah, and he was downgraded to PES C, and we lost 1 guy to do guard duty, and to be sent out for exercises and deployment and whatever shit.

Another hatre is greasing. Greasing will get myself greased most of the time. We simply don’t care much. We make ourselves greasy, so that the job will be done faster. We are non-sissies (not like some people who did greasing, and suddenly he’s no where to be found…). We can even put our whole hand into a tin of grease! Hahah! The feeling was… well… like squeezing something soft, slimy.. hmm…

Greasy hands? Wash them after the job la!!! That’s what some things like soap are meant for.

And sometimes I found myself going to the cookhouse for lunch, smelling of grease and lubricants all over. Who cares… Hahaha. We are drivers-cum-mechanics!

Today’s weather forecast is partly cloudy. ooOoo. Bball day… Nowadays I really siao? Swim swim swim swim and bball…. Hmm.. must keep the weight down, not up…

Yes. We swam, but in the afternoon.

Lijian and I were on the bus to Bukit Batok, when Zhenyao SMSed, saying that the weather did not look too good. Yeah, earlier, I had already told him about the weather: rain. In the end, we decided to postpone it.

We went up to Zhenyao’s second home. Quite a nice place, on the 9th floor, my favourite number! Hahaa… He’s the only one in there at that time. Yeah, of course I went around exploring like the house’s mine… look here, look there. Quite spacious…

We decided to go to KBox instead! I got Victor to come out also! So, we went to JE KBox for K Lunch! Luckily, the rain had started to fall only while we were crossing the road to take 176 to JE…. and luckily we were not in the pool, as showers with thunder ==> no swimming.

Yeah it was cold! Hahaha! But shiok. But seemed like we were all infected with the Superstar virus. We were trying to imitate the judges comments, what “head voice”, “groove”, whatever! Hahaha! But really, singers, listen to the judges’ comments on the contestants. You can apply them too! Hahahha!

Yeah, sang not much songs. Victor said he was there to watch MTV, and we wondered why. He could sing, but just try to mumble like someone has put super glue in his mouth. I tried some “die die” songs, like “Forever Love” and “??”, and some “can die” songs like “????” and “??”, and of course, “survive songs” like “????” and “???????”… Hmm… really not much songs. We even tried the song that Weilian sang during the competition: “?????????”. It’s a nice song. I am still looking for it… We even tried to be killed by singing “??”! 😡

Yeah… due to the fact that, it’s hard to pull girls along for Kbox, it’s not recommended to sing these duets. Which also means, I have not sing any duet with a girl before. Who shall be the lucky (or suay, in whatever light you choose to see this in) one to sing a nice nice song with me? Hahahaha!

I know my own voice. I did try to record my own singing using my mic and listen carefully. Sometimes I think it sounds ok, and sometimes, I just delete the file away. ????! I think I will have to work more on high notes… because, it’s really like killing chickens…

Yes, Laksa for lunch, lemon tea for drink, and at 2pm, we were out of there! The rain had stopped by then, and we decided to go for the swim despite the clouds overhead. It’s a good choice and a bad choice. The good choice was, it did not rain! The bad choice was, due to morning rain, everyone had decided to come in in the afternoon! The pool was packed! And some siao young boys were trying to be funny, swimming right in front of me, perpendicular in direction. Well done. Should have headbutted him and give him 1 kick somewhere non-lethal (I am, most of the time, a “harmless” creature..). Forced me to stop in the middle of the pool to wait for him to pass. An an uncle too! Cutting my path, same thing! And I don’t really like people swimming front crawl, as most don’t really look in front!

Hmm… however, I still like to “speed” through the water… Hmm… I wondered how much force my hands and legs are able to provide me with now…

So this day marks the end of a KBox Draught, and the start of a swimming-in-cloudy-conditions trend…

And I think I need a new pair of goggles! This current pair is starting to show problems. Maybe, I should just use it till something happens to it, before I think of getting a new one.

Just finished printing and cutting some papers. Time to sleep soon… *yawns*

Yes, tested and proven. I can sit in front of the computer and do editing, copying, pasting, typing of information non-stop. I can also even forget about lunch!

After going through some 300+ database entries, it's a bit tiring, but then, it just lets me refresh some things in my head. Yeah.

And did a super printer test today! Printed some stuff out, around 50 pages, and yet, the ink catridges are still going strong! And the thing is, the printer's telling me it's low on ink! Yeah.. I support HP anytime…

I want to swim tomorrow!!! I have already missed a swim this morning as a PIG decided to sleep, and another PIG said he's too tired. TEACHER WHO SWIMS has to teach, and the pool has been used by a school from 12noon onwards for their sports meet.

So good! They have water events! Why last time, CSS don't have. And when the pool was just down the road?

Hahaha… it did not matter to me too much if there's water events back then. I did not swim much. I started my siao swimming only after the 'A' Levels… Swam the breast stroke like a frog, and a not-really-front-crawl front crawl, and some stupid stunts. Favourite is to go underwater and swim half the length… if possible (most of the time not…)

Now, I have to go back to the point that I have made before: What I want, I do not get…

Shall see how…
