And so, my current racquet, Yonex dunno-what-model, is made of aluminium. Due to that, and also the lower part of the racquet head, the tension on the string cannot be too high. Since the upper tension limit is only 55 pounds, it was set at 54 the last time I went to Queensway. <\/p>\n
The string has an effect on power. The lower the tension, the more powerful the hitting force. Therefore, I do not really need a fast swinging action to send the ball over at a faster speed.<\/p>\n
My racquet is slightly head heavy. This means that, when the racquet is balanced in between, it will tip over at the head's side. Head heavy racquets delivers more power to the ball, and also does not vibrate too much on impact. Since it's more power, control is reduced.<\/p>\n
I do not know the stiffness of my racquet. But this it is made of aluminium, I don't think it is very stiff. Stiff racquets allows more power, while less stiff racquets are able to absorb more impact.<\/p>\n
My racquet has an oversized head (110). This means that it has a larger hitting surface or sweetspot, making it more forgiving to errors while hitting. Since hitting surface is increased, power is also increased.<\/p>\n
Overall? My current racquet is a damn powerful racquet. Lol. It is very suitable for beginners. I do not need a fast swing to get the ball across the net. A fast swing may just put the ball past the fence. Also, due to the lower string tension, I can do strange slicing balls to make the opponent want to die due to strange ball movements. <\/p>\n
While people are playing with topspin, I am playing with some sidespin. Wahahah!<\/p>\n
With that, I am thinking of getting another racquet. A racquet that is completely opposite of what I am having now. Criteria are:<\/p>\n
– head light.
– 27 or 27.5inch length.
– head size between 95 and 105.
– around 300g.
– supports string tension of 58.<\/p>\n
