Just came back. Went out this evening for a primary school class gathering. It seemed like it was another normal small group gathering to me.<\/p>\n
Met Junwei and Weibiao at 6pm. We went over to Heeren together for the supposedly class dinner. Met Waiman at her workplace: Eyeplay Optique. We were early, or so we thought. At 8, we met Ivan. Waited for another half an hour for 2 guys, Guohao and Kelvin. In the end, the 5 guys went to Marche for the so-called dinner. After that, Guohao and Kelvin left. Yaobang joined us then. Next to leave was Ivan. So, at 10, only 4 guys and 1 girl. We went down to Acid Bar for a drink. Then some games of pool. The end. I don't wish to elaborate further.<\/p>\n
What went wrong. 1) Girls changed their minds (as usual) at the last minute. 2) Ye Zhixiang, the other organiser, was down with flu. 3) Mostly were simply not interested.<\/p>\n
Sometimes, I really wondered, is it that difficult to take out a few hours to get together? Will coming out shorten your life? Will meeting for dinner kill your the-other-half? If your partner wants you not to go, let me tell you: you have no freedom.<\/p>\n
Yes, I know that organising such outings is a stressful and difficult mission. You have to make sure that all can be able to make it. And I thank you, Waiman, for that, although I don't think you are going to have the chance to read this (maybe you will.. lol). No it's not your fault. We are grateful for your eagerness to gather all of us. And I really hoped that we will have another better gathering soon…<\/p>\n
